Last month my laptop hard drive started
making a lot of noise. When my laptop came back repaired, it was a simple
procedure to restore it to the state it was before the hard drive started
acting up.

Best Laptop Backup Solution
Notebook computers
are the perfect tool for busy on-the-go executives -- powerful, compact and
portable. But those same attributes make them vulnerable to a variety of data
loss risks.
With tiny components and connections packed in
a compact case, laptops are delicate and can easily overheat, suffer hard drive
failures or power outages, making the data they store extremely vulnerable.

Laptops are also
frequently dropped and damaged, lost or stolen from cars, airports, offices and
homes. WIFI (wireless network) connections also expose your data to viruses to
hackers.

Why Laptop Backups Rarely Happen
Coupled with the
extreme vulnerability of laptops is the disturbing fact that most users don't
store their data on a centralized server, and rarely if ever back up their hard
drive.
- Don't regularly connect to a corporate network or
server;
- Don't travel with a backup device such as an external or tape
drive, and even if they do, they are subject to the same type of risks (loss,
theft, damage, corruption, etc).
- Are often sales people who don't have the time or expertise
for complex solutions.
The Best Laptop Backup Solution:
Remote Data Backups
Automatic + Flexible Scheduling = Regular Backups
Three Remote Data
Backups scheduling features are especially useful for getting mobile notebook
users, who may not fit the 9-to-5, always-at-the-office mode, to perform
regular backups. To change these options in the program, select Options, then
Backup Schedule (see
screenshot):
- As a laptop user, you will not always have access to an
Internet connection. To ensure you back up whenever you can connect, choose the
"Backup on connection to network" option, and set the "...if not backed
up for X hours" to suit your preferences.
- To automatically prompt for backup each time you shut down,
and check "Prompt for backup each time Windows Exits".
- To run a backup and then automatically shut down, right click
on our system tray icon, then select "Run a backup, then exit
Windows".
