Our experience with Remote Data Backups
has been outstanding. Previously we endured the hassle of backing up our large
files onto tape...and many times we would not remember to perform the
backup...or we would elect to "forget" to do the backup. It would take 15-25
minutes of time ...so it was more than inconvenience to back up files...It also
was costly to take the time as that time could have been devoted to customers
and more business.

Evaluate Your Backup Plan
We can help you evaluate your current or
proposed backup plan to find out if it really protects your data properly and
cost-effectively.
Always ask yourself these 7 critical questions:
1) How often do you really backup your data?
- Every night, once a week, every now and then, or just
whenever "the fear" sets in.
- Do you physically perform backups or is it an
"automated routine" (i.e. you use the same tape or disk over and over and
rarely remove it from the drive).
 |
Remote Data Backups automatically backs
up all your data securely
offsite every night. |
2) What would happen to your
business if you lost all or some your data unexpectedly?
- How much would it cost your business if you
lost...
- One day's, 1 week's or 1 month's worth of data?
- ALL of your data?
- Would you be able to quickly recreate your data?
- How much would that cost you?
- What would you do and how much would it cost if you
couldn't recreate it?
- What if your hard copies were also lost with your
digital data?

3) Who actually
performs your backups every night?
- The CEO, owner or manager? (Couldn't their time be better
spent elsewhere?)
- Expensive IT or admin staff? (How much do they cost you
per hour?)
- A minimum wage person in the company (With the least
amount of IT experience?)
4) How many
backup tapes (at $50 to $100 each) or disks do you use?
- Do you use just one or just a few over and over? (The
worst thing you can do.)
- Do you use a minimum of 5 tapes for a Monday through Friday
rotation?
- Do you use 9 tapes for Monday through Friday, plus 4 for a
weekly offsite rotation?
- Do you replace your tapes once every 1-2 years (highly
recommended by IT professionals)?
 |
Remote Data Backups requires no special backup
hardware. |
5) Do you
actually take your backups offsite and how often?
- Every night, once a week, once a month, only once, or never?
- Is this a rigid routine or just on just when you feel like
it?
6) Where do you
physically store your backups?
- Onsite right next to the computer it is backing up?
- Offsite in a safety deposit box, "fire" safe, a night stand
at home, car glovebox, your secretary's purse, etc., or you just don't know.
- Does someone in your company have access to both your data
and all the backups?
- Could that person become disgruntled and destroy both?
- Could these backups ever be stolen? (disgruntled employee,
competitor, etc.)
- Would you ever know if one of your backups was missing?
7) Have you ever
performed a practice restore from your current backups?
- What if you found out you couldn't restore your data when you
needed it most?
- Did you know that if you get one grain of sand,
speck of dust or any type of water or heat damage to your tape,
CD or DVD backups that you more than likely will not be able to restore
from it?
The bottom line...
- Remote Data Backups is hands down the most cost effective,
secure, reliable and convenient way to backup your data offsite every night.
