“Our experience with Remote Data Backups
has been outstanding. Previously we endured the hassle of backing up our large
files onto tape...and many times we would not remember to perform the
backup...or we would elect to "forget" to do the backup. It would take 15-25
minutes of time ...so it was more than inconvenience to back up files...It also
was costly to take the time as that time could have been devoted to customers
and more business.”

Disadvantages of
DVD Backup
DVD Drives are NOT the answer to properly
backing up your data offsite every night.
Just the cost of a DVD drive can be more than a
year of our service, but without the security of having the data stored safely
offsite. Every time you make a backup with a DVD drive, you will typically
spend $3 on the blank DVD-R media itself...about the same cost per day as our
30 GB solution.
Add the time it takes you to physically run the backup
(5-10 minutes) and the time it takes you to take that data offsite and you will
quickly see that you will spend more on time than you would if you deployed
Remote Data Backups. DVDs are a relatively new technology and their long-term
reliability has not been proven. DVD-RW is less reliable than DVD-R, and
multiple DVD-R disks per day can become very expensive. |
