Disadvantages of
CD-RW Backup
CD-RW Drives are NOT the answer to properly backuping up your
data offsite every night.
Just the cost of CD-RW drive can be more than a year of our
service, but without the security of having the data stored safely offsite.
Every time you make a backup with a CD-RW drive, you will typically spend 67
cents on the blank media itself...the exact same cost per day as our 4 GB
solution.
Add the time it takes you to physically run the backup (5-10 minutes) and
the time it takes you to take that data offsite and you will quickly see that
you will spend more on time than you would if you deployed Remote Data Backups.
CD-RW is less reliable than CD-R, and multiple CD-R disks per day can become
very expensive. |
