This is a must service for all owners.
Dan not only talked me thru the process step by step, his computer expertise
also helped me fix some other issues not related to Remote Data Backups. The
process is easy, inexpensive and will save you time when you have a systems
crash like I did.

Network Drive Backup
Remote Data Backups
now offers mapped drive versions of its popular software. This valuable feature
allows you to back up data from any other computer on your local area
network.
You can even back up computers
that run on operating systems other than Windows -- such as Apple-Macintosh,
Linux, Unix, AS400, Novell -- as long as the PC running the backup software is
on a Windows OS. You won't find a better multiple-OS backup solution or price.
Download a free 30-Day Trial below and see for yourself.

Mapped Drive Backup Feature
Comparison
Our
advanced features, along with our price, truly set us apart from our
competitors.
Setup takes just 10
minutes. Please follow our easy step-by-step instructions online.
Questions? Call us toll-free, 24/7.
- When registering, please enter your
phone and e-mail so we can contact you if necessary.
- Print 2 copies of your encryption key and store them offsite. For your
security, we cannot access your key.
- We will e-mail you a link to our payment page.
How do I map a
drive?
- Open My Network Places, and find the network resource you
want to map a drive to. For Example, Server1/C.
- Right-click the resource (in the example above, the C:/
directory), and choose "Map Network Drive..." from the small menu that appears.
- Choose the letter that you want to use for the drive (in the
drop-down menu next to the word "Drive:", and click "Finish"
- That's it! Now, you can access the network resource by
opening My Computer, and then opening the drive letter used in the previous
step.
How do I back up a mapped
drive?
- During installation, be sure to
assign the Agent Service Account to an account with
administrative rights. (By default, the software assigns it to LOCAL SYSTEM).
Click the "Change" button, then locate an administrator's account, or create a
new one:
- Click Start / Settings / Control Panel / User Accounts,
then "Create New Account". Enter "RDB" and click "Next". Select "Computer
Administrator" and click "Create Account". From the RDB software's setup
screen, click "Change" and select "RDB".
- If you set up the software without performing Step 1, you
won't be able to see your network drives.
Click
here for instructions on setting the service to run on an administrator
account.
- If you are using the Mapped Drive version, you can access the
"Network Drives" dialog box during registration or by selecting Advanced Rules,
Drives from the Options menu in Backup View. It displays the hard drives and
network drives available on your system. By default, all hard drives are
selected and all network drives are excluded from backup.
- A drive that is excluded from backup through this dialog will
not be scanned during the backup process and will not appear in the backup
window. An "X" appears to the left of drives to be excluded from the backup.
Double-click on any drive in the list to reverse its current state.
Warning: Be sure your network drives remain intact.
- If you plan on using the mapped drive version, make sure your
network connections are engaged and retain the same drive letter. If the user
changes a drive letter or disconnects a mapped drive, the program will not be
able to back up that drive.
